Stylish and well appointed space. We really loved the amenities, especially the wrap around porch, plunge pool, and all the games. There was plenty to keep the whole family occupied on site; we’d recommend it.

My older cousin and I were tasked with finding the perfect location for my older bother and younger brother's dual bachelor weekend/getaway. We're familiar with Central West Virginia as our father's grew up there, and we visit every year to catch trout whenever we can find time. Venturing to this part of WV was refreshing. The landscape is beautiful. The whole set up of the cabin and property was perfect. The linens were all fresh and comfortable, beautiful paintings and artwork contributed to the feel of the cabin which is both mountain-esque but sleek at the same time. I had plenty of room in the kitchen to move around, plenty of utensils and cutlery. The wrap-around/screen porch was awesome, big table where we had dinner every night. The sun was out so the cushioned lounge chairs by the gas-fire pit on the deck were great. The little trail out back leads to not only the river but also to a very large, well-kept fire pit with high strung lights that illuminated the area at night while we told stories and laughed by the fire. Just an overall awesome experience. We even finished off the trip in the basement watching A River Runs Through It on the giant projector screen. My younger brother said it was the best weekend of his life. Could not be happier with our stay!

My group and I had a wonderfully relaxing time here. The cabin itself is luxurious and well-appointed. Clearly, there is a professional interior designer involved. The hosts thought through everything: big bathrooms, spacious kitchens, comfortable beds, cozy, but large living room, lots of porch space, pool table, etc.) There is a ton of space here so people can go off and do their own thing (read on the porch, sit in the pool, etc.) but then we can all come together at the gigantic outside table and eat together, play games, etc. There is good hiking nearby (Ice Mountain is a pretty awesome geological phenomenon that I knew nothing about prior to this trip). And it's very quiet with the back basically adjacent to a forest. Would definitely return!!
Definitely worth the drive and you won't want to leave you are so relaxed you will truly take in WV and definitely want to book a return trip soon!

Mountainaire truly is a luxury cabin experience. Beyond being beautiful, tranquil, and entertaining, there were a myriad of thoughtful touches that made the trip unique to any other Airbnb experience I've had.

The Mountainaire cabin exceeded our expectations. The cabin was beautiful designed with thoughtful details throughout- from heated floors, beautiful rustic fixtures, a fully stocked kitchen and an abundance of spaces to congregate- our only disappointment was not being here when it was warmer when we could truly enjoy every spot this wonderful cabin had to offer. We spent the weekend by the fireplace, watching movies on the large projector tv, cooking delicious meals in the kitchen and exploring the grounds. There was a wonderful hike right off the property, a fun river and suspension bridge, a nice hot tub and plenty of space for our group of 10. This cabin was more luxurious than most- with a lot of really wonderful touches that made staying here quite comfortable- which we thought made this spot truly unique. The outdoor spaces looked equally as nice and we look forward to returning again to experience this awesome cabin in the fall or spring when you can really enjoy the entire property. The hosts were extremely easy to get in touch with- and thought of everything- making our stay that much easier.
This luxury cabin is unparalleled. If you're looking for an amazingly furnished property with all sorts of special touches and great privacy than this is the place for you. We were particularly impressed with how well stocked the kitchen is and easy to use all the amazing amenities are. Stephen and Mary are clearly experts in the hospitality business! This place is amazing!

This was a perfect cabin for our annual girlfriends getaway. The cabins touches are beautiful, personal, and thoughtful. We all slept comfortably and enjoyed every inch of this cabin.
Stephen and Mary have done a lot to make sure every detail is accounted for in many expected and unexpected ways. There's of course everything you need to know to make the visit enjoyable and for things to work as expected but many of the best parts are just making the cabin feel cozy and detailed so even a weekend retreat feels like a well earned vacation. The location is perfect for a rural retreat and the valley is a sight in the morning as the sun comes over the mountain range. The abundant seating (including the porch day beds) easily convince you to spend it around the fire or huddled in the blankets outside with a warm coffee (at least if you go during a fall cold snap like we did). Even with many people between the porch, deck, kitchen, living area and basement you never feel contained with many places to relax or converse. It definitely feels like a place worth trying in every season for the different activities around and certainly makes for a memorable stay.

We have stayed at a quite a few cabins in our travels and this is by far our favorite. The space is beautiful, the area is perfect, and we loved the game room and outdoors! We may need to get there in the summer time and we hardly ever revisit the same places, but this home is worth a second visit. It was the kitchen stocked with every tool we needed for us to make our Thanksgiving family dinner. We enjoyed the long weekend and highly recommend this lovely cabin! Thank you for sharing your place with us!
